More Company Information
Bishopstrow College is one of the UK's leading Study Centres for International students preparing for entry to premier UK boarding schools, currently rated as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for English language teaching based on the British Council Inspector's publishable statement. The College is a unique, fully residential year round centre established to provide highly specific academic courses for learners who wish to enter well regarded schools such as Badminton, Charterhouse, Dulwich College, Harrow, Stowe, Wycombe Abbey and the Dragon School. Our international students are aged from 7 to 17 years and come from a diverse range of countries meaning that English is always the lingua franca. Classes are small, approximately 8 students with each having an Individual Learning Plan. Places are very limited to ensure each student receives close individual attention and support. The students stay at Bishopstrow for a minimum of 1 or a maximum of 4 terms, improving their English to the required standard for them to sit entrance examinations to leading UK schools. In addition students follow the curriculum suited to Primary, Middle or pre A level /IB stages of school entry and sit the suite of Cambridge ESOL examinations on a termly basis. Bishopstrow is not affiliated to one specific school, but enjoys well established relationships with most UK schools. We operate a 4 term year so as not to disturb the flow of the Intensive English Programme and for the convenience of overseas parents. New sport and boarding facilities were opened in 2012 and a new classroom block is due to be completed in September 2014.
