Details of Position
CCL is a British Council-accredited school situated in central Cambridge. We are currently recruiting teachers for the six weeks from 8th July to 18th August 2018. We accept students aged 9 - 17 and have both residential and home-stay accommodation available for them. This position includes full board for the duration of the course.
Teaching up to 30 hours per week
Keeping class registers and lesson plans up to date
Preparing lessons in accordance with the CCL syllabus
Attending staff meetings as required
Assisting in the conducting and marking of placement tests.
Ensuring that all classes are conducted in a professional manner and to a high standard.
Teachers are not required to take part in social activities.
We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers and can offer a friendly, supportive staff room and plenty of help with lesson preparation.
We take a keen interest in teacher development and aim to provide this through observations and workshops. Input from staff as to content of workshops is welcomed.
Residential posts require some responsibility for the welfare of students in the residence generally in the evenings and night-time. This is to include: wake up, breakfast and evening meal supervision and being the first point of call for any issues which arise outside of the normal operating hours of the school.

CCL is committed to the safeguarding of children and all staff are expected to adhere to CCL's child protection policy at all times. All candidates are expected to be able to satisfactorily explain any gaps in their CV and should be prepared to undergo a DBS check.
A British Council approved qualification such as Trinity CertTESOL or CELTA
A University degree.
Suitable candidates should have no restrictions on working with children.
We accept applications from non-UK nationals, however we expect all employees to have permission to work in the UK, to arrange their own UK national insurance number and to have a UK bank account to pay salary into. If you are unsure about any of these points, please investigate before applying.
An enthusiasm for working with children is essential and previous experience of teaching juniors would be an advantage.

The Cambridge Centre for Languages was established in 1982 and is both accredited by the British Council and a member of English UK. The school runs two concentrated blocks of courses per year- one in the summer (July- August), the other in the winter (Jan-Feb), specialising in young learners, aged 10-17. Students generally stay for between 2 and 6 weeks during these periods. We also run flexible courses for small groups.
