About the role
As EFL Course Manager you will work to expand our new EFL course which will be run in Oxford for student groups aged 10-12, 13-15, 16-17 and 18-24. This is a multi-faceted role which requires a broad range of skills, travel to Oxford and a significant time commitment throughout June, July and August 2018.
Youll work alongside our departments to create, adapt and review company policies and procedures in order to prepare for British Council accreditation. You will manage the British Council inspection process both before and during the summer course delivery period.
Youll work directly with our Academic Programmes team to develop the EFL syllabus and form the course outline into a structured offering with clear learning objectives and outlines.
Youll work alongside, and be involved in the recruitment of, our tutor team who you will lead during course delivery to ensure our high academic standards continue to be met.
You will be involved in training the tutor team, and Head Office staff, to ensure best practice and that British Council standards are being met. You will also train our Head Office staff to maintain British Council standards and documentation going forward.
Youll work alongside our on-course delivery team to understand the mechanics of designing a course timetable and work with them to ensure our EFL students have an inspiring and balanced academic and pastoral programme.
The EFL project is an exciting avenue for Oxford Summer Courses, both in course delivery and in gaining British Council accreditation. You will be instrumental in these areas whilst developing the skills and understanding of our Head Office and tutorial staff.
Coordinate British Council Inspection ahead of course delivery in the summer months
Managing relationships- with departments, tutors and staff to develop policies and processes that support British Council accreditation standards
Management of the EFL course provision and staff during course delivery to ensure student and tutor satisfaction targets are met and a high academic provision is met
Course design to develop our syllabus content for 2018
Training ensuring relevant knowledge and best practice is passed on and followed across Head Office and academic staff
Graduate with a 2.1 degree or above and 3-5 years professional experience
A recognised teaching qualification (RSA/Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL or equivalent, PGCE in relevant subject)
DELTA or Dip TESOL or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
Experience with British Council inspections and accreditation
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to prioritise tasks and use initiative
CELTYL, CELTA Trainer
Familiarity with Cambridge and Oxford Summer Courses products
Experience in project management
Effective management and motivational skills
