Job Description: Language in Action Ltd is an exciting language provider with an innovative approach to language learning. Our courses offer all students an opportunity to use newly learnt English language skills in real life English situations. We bring the English language classroom to life and the classroom to the English Language.
We seek experienced, professional, energetic and dedicated residential Directors of Studies to join our team. This role will be centre-based on our centre in Brighton for our next groups coming. Our groups are coming: 7th -14th February; 12th 18th February; 26th- 3rd March; 5th - 10th March and of course for future groups.
We are passionate about improving the way English language is taught and learnt and are looking for like-minded individuals to lead the Academic teams at our centres. The successful candidate would work focusing on teacher training, implementation of our exclusive course materials that complement our communicative language approach, and dedicated academic support to all teaching staff and students. The Director of Studies will also be responsible for all academic aspects of the centre including managing the teaching team, organising placement tests, streaming of classes, teaching when necessary.
The purpose of the Directors of Studies and teachers at the centre is to ensure that they produce a language learning experience that meets the expectations of the participants and clients. The Director of Studies will work closely, not only with the teaching staff, but with the Centre Manager, Activity and Welfare Manager, Group Leaders and Activity staff at the centre to produce the best possible course for our students. An understanding of the occasionally conflicting needs of both student-facing sides of a centre (teaching and activities) is essential.
A first degree
DELTA/DipTESOL (or equivalent)
3+ years experience
Current enhanced DBS check (and/or international police check)
Experience of working with young learners

appropriate suitability checks will be required prior to confirmation of appointment

Significant teaching and managerial experience in the TEFL sector
