Job Summary

The Academic Manager takes responsibility for assisting the Centre Manager in all aspects of managing the centre to ensure the centres smooth running. The Academic Manager has particular focus on the academic part of the course (including classing, level testing and teacher development).
We are currently looking for Academic Managers at St Giles Juniors Oxford (27th June - 5th August), Nottingham (20th June - 29th July) and Canterbury (4th July - 12th August).

St Giles has over 60 years experience in providing high quality English courses. Our junior courses attract students from more than 50 different countries from the ages of 7 to 19 and we are a highly regarded summer school provider. All staff are considered ambassadors of the company and are challenged, both individually and collectively, to share the organisations ethos and actively contribute towards achieving its objectives.
Our goal is to give students an educational, culturally-enriching, enjoyable and memorable summer experience in a safe and supervised setting. We only employ people who are willing to accept this responsibility and have the necessary wide-ranging skills, experience and commitment to help us achieve our goal of being the very best junior course provider.
In summer 2018 St Giles Juniors will be running British Council accredited Junior Residential Summer Courses at Cambridge University (Ages: 14-17), The Kings School Canterbury (Ages: 8-17), University College London ( Ages: 10-17), Oxford Brookes (Ages: 10-17) The University of Nottingham (Ages: 10-17), Bournemouth (10-17).
We will also be running non residential Family Courses in Brighton (Ages: 7-15) and London (Ages: 7-15).
Students have 20- 25 lessons of English a week and participate in a full afternoon and evening programme of activities and excursions. Classes range from beginner to advanced level and follow a theme-based syllabus focusing on language development, project work and communicative competence.

Academic Managers
Cambridge DELTA/ MA TESOL or equivalent
Experience of managing a team
Experience of working with teenagers
Familiarity with TEFL materials

CELTA or equivalent.

Salary and Benefits

Academic Managers: £500 per week + full board accommodation + 12.1% holiday pay.
Comprehensive training provided

Residential Teachers: £400+ per week for residential + full board and accommodation (includes 12.1% holiday pay.
Non Residential Teachers: £15 per 50 minute less and £8.50 per activity programme hour + 12.1% holiday pay.
