Details of Position

Job Purpose
The Bucksmore Academic Manager is a key member of the head office operations team, and is primarily responsible for the production and delivery of all academic content across all Bucksmore programmes. However, the nature of the role within a small operations team means that the Academic Manager will also have input into the successful delivery of all aspects of the summer programmes, ensuring they are delivered to the highest possible standard, and in compliance with British Council guidelines.
Throughout the year, the Academic Manager will review learning material and resources from previous summers to produce new and engaging syllabi. The Academic Manager will be responsible for developing new course material and content for students aged 10-21 years old. They will also work with the Recruitment Manager to appoint Directors of Studies for each summer centre. Over the summer, the Academic Manager is the direct line manager for each DoS and will also induct them before the summer schools start.
This is a demanding position and requires a high level of flexibility and independence, particularly over the summer months while the programmes are running. It requires a combination of an academic background, and a can-do operational approach to ensure all summer programmes meet the high standards expected of Bucksmore programmes.
Bucksmore is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The post holders responsibilities for safeguarding the welfare of the young students for whom they are responsible and with whom they come into contact, will adhere to Bucksmore's Child Protection Policy.
