Details of Position
EFL Counsellors have the opportunity to work on both the teaching and activity programmes. They will deliver engaging EFL lessons and lead stimulating activity sessions at residential summer schools in the UK. All Bucksmore staff will also have pastoral responsibilities. The Bucksmore EFL Counsellor role is a demanding but ultimately very rewarding one.
Specialist Counsellors will be involved in similar programmes to our EFL Counsellors but focus on specific subject areas. Also having the opportunity to work on both the teaching and activity programmes. They will deliver engaging lessons and lead stimulating activity sessions at residential summer schools in the UK. All Bucksmore staff will also have pastoral responsibilities. The Bucksmore Specialist Counsellor role is a demanding but ultimately very rewarding one. Subject areas that Specialist counsellors will need knowledge of and experience in include - Medecine, Business and Finance, Performing Arts, Media and Communication and Engineering.

Our courses run from the 24th June to the end of August.
Because of the 'boutique' nature of the camps and small number of students Counsellors work with, staff have the chance to really get to know and inspire the students.

Once appointed you will be required to provide evidence of your ID and qualifications. You will also be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check or its equivalent from your country of residence. Bucksmore charge approxiamately 50% of the cost of a DBS check (£25) which is deducted from payroll.

- CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent, PGCE in English or Modern Foreign Language, PGCE (Primary)
- University degree (in relevant subject area for Specialist Counsellor)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to engage children
- Willingness and ability to participate fully and enthusiastically with the students' activity programme
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience:
-At least 1 year's teaching experience
-Experience of working on a residential summer school
-Experience of working with students aged 10-18
-Experience in leading workshops/sessions in art, music, sports, journalism or drama
Salary and Benefits
£410 per week basic pay + 12.07% holiday pay per week (£49.49) and up to £50 per week performance related bonus.
Specialist Counsellor -
£450 per week basic pay + 12.07% holiday pay per week (£54.31) and up to £50 per week performance related bonus.
All teaching staff are offered regular CPD sessions and as the role is residential both food (full board) and accommodation are provided.
Bucksmore also include a loyalty bonus for returning staff of up to four years and payment for First Aid training.
