Job Summary

Job Summary:
Centre Manager: has overall responsibility for the summer centre and will oversee and plan staffing, student arrivals and departures, student welfare, and the daytime and evening activity and academic programme for the course operation dates.
Activity Manager: responsible for the social programme.
Academic Manager: responsible for the academic programme.
Teachers: deliver high quality lessons.
Activity Leaders: lead excursions and activities

Details of Position

St Giles has over 60 years experience in providing high quality English courses. Our junior courses attract students from more than 50 different countries from the ages of 7 to 19 and we are a highly regarded summer school provider. All staff are considered ambassadors of the company and are challenged, both individually and collectively, to share the organisations ethos and actively contribute towards achieving its objectives.
Our goal is to give students an educational, culturally-enriching, enjoyable and memorable summer experience in a safe and supervised setting. We only employ people who are willing to accept this responsibility and have the necessary wide-ranging skills, experience and commitment to help us achieve our goal of being the very best junior course provider.
In summer 2018 St Giles Juniors will be running British Council accredited Junior Residential Summer Courses at Cambridge University (Ages: 14-17), The Kings School Canterbury (Ages: 8-17), University College London ( Ages: 10-17), Oxford Brookes (Ages: 10-17) The University of Nottingham (Ages: 10-17), Bournemouth (10-17).
We will also be running non residential Family Courses in Brighton (Ages: 7-15) and London (Ages: 7-15).
We also run courses in North America. For applicants who already have the necessary visa and the right to work in the US or Canada, please contact our North American team.
Students have 20- 25 lessons of English a week and participate in a full afternoon and evening programme of activities and excursions. Classes range from beginner to advanced level and follow a theme-based syllabus focusing on language development, project work and communicative competence.

EFL Teacher: Cambridge CELTA (or equivalent level 5 qualification) + degree or PGCE Primary or Modern languages.
Centre Manager: Cambridge DELTA or equivalent or Activity Manager experience or previous experience as a Centre Manager.
Activity Manager: Extensive Activity Leader experience, qualified teachers preferred.
Academic Manager: Cambridge DELTA or equivalent

Salary and Benefits

Residential Centre Manager: £650 per week + full board accommodation + 12.1% holiday pay
Residential Activity Manager: £500 per week + full board accommodation + 12.1% holiday pay
Non Residential Teachers: £15 per 50 minute lesson + 12.1% holiday pay
Residential Teachers: £373.50 per week (48 hour week over 6 days)+ full board accommodation +12.1% holiday pay
Non Residential Activity Leaders: £8.50 an hour + 12.1% holiday pay
