Details of Position
Discovery Summer is accredited by the British Council and runs residential summer courses for international students aged 8-17 at top UK boarding schools. The students have come to learn English, make new friends, try new activities, visit Britain and have a great time!
Many of our staff and students come back year after year. In 2017 we welcomed students of over 60 nationalities, 60% of our staff were returners and many recommend us to their friends.
We are currently recruiting teachers with relevant qualifications to work on our new Global Young Leaders Programme at ACS Cobham, Surrey for 4 weeks from 28 June 28 July. During the course students will cover three separate Strands: Young Entrepreneur, STEM, Creative Arts.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons in your specific subject and for successfully completing the administrative duties that this role entails. Your lessons will be lively and include engaging activities to help students build confidence in the Strand subject while building on their language skills.
You will have 22.5 contact hours per week. You will also assist with other duties e.g. wake up/bed time duties/meal time supervision, supporting social activities as required. (Non-residential applicants will be considered.)

Degree, appropriate PGCE/BEd.
Experience of teaching the relevant age group/subject
CELTA or Trinity TESOL
Previous summer school experience/International school experience
Experience of teaching specialist subject to multi-lingual, multi-level classes
Ability to develop and implement interactive and stimulating Strand lessons
Provides a clear and accurate model of the English language
Organised, creative, reliable with good administrative skills
Professional, culturally aware and genuinely enjoys working with children/teenagers
Hardworking, energetic and committed to professional growth and development
Salary and Benefits
All posts are residential. Full board and accommodation is offered. You will work a 6 day week. Non-residential applicants will be considered.
