- Spain, Oviedo and Valencia Region
- UKLC (UK Language Courses)
- Experience: NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Positions: 50
- Degree Required
- Short Term/Summer job, Residential
Job SummaryThe CELTA/CertTESOL courses deal predominantly with how to teach English to adults and give little or no direction to trainees about how to teach young learners and teenagers (7-16 years). We offer extra YLs training before you leave for Spain and, upon arrival there, most people will be placed in primary or secondary schools where you will be able to put your theory into practice over a four week period.
Details of Position
The project aims to offer extra training to fifty newly qualified CELTA/CertTESOL teachers followed by a place on one of two 4 week-long voluntary placements (with 20-25 participants on each placement) in our partners schools in the Valenciana region in Spain and in Oviedo in northern Spain. The first training week will be from 2nd January 2018 and the second from 10th April 2018 (both UK based). The placements will be a month long from the 7th January 2018 and the 15th April 2018.
The purpose of the project is to help teachers who have little or no teaching experience gain more experience in the world of teaching and hence make them more employable in the UK and ultimately open doors for them to opportunities around the world.
QualificationsAll applicants are required to have a CELTA or CertTESOL qualification and little or no teaching experience. A degree is also a plus.
Salary and BenefitsThe placement is voluntary but the following will be provided:
Flights to and from Spain
Transport costs between your school and place of residence
A small weekly allowance
We do not provide:
Transport to and from the training sessions
Transport from the UK airport upon your return home

More Company Information
MJA Language (est. 2001) and Stars Language (est.1993) worked together from 2008. We realised the potential of bringing together the expertise of the Stars sports programme with the quality of the MJA language programme. Ever since then our partnership has gone from strength to strength and we feel that everyone involved with us has understood and appreciated how well we have worked together. Now, finally, we have become one company under the new brand of UKLC. The courses we run are mainly residential programmes for juniors and take place in exclusive private boarding schools and University campuses in the UK. The students we host are aged between 11 and 17 years of age and come from around the world including Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia. In each centre we recruit a team of staff who are responsible for the smooth running of the course. We pride ourselves on offering excellent support and development to our staff. We feel this is the reason we have an extremely high number of returning staff (65% from summer 2010 to summer 2011).
