      ELT and JOURNALISM
"I am interested in doing a TEFL course to compliment my existing skills. I have been a journalist for two years and hold BA(Hons) in English Literature and an NCTJ post-graduate diploma in Newspaper Journalism. I would like the freedom to choose any country in the world that will take a teacher, but which course do I choose, bearing in mind I currently work full-time? I would also like to keep my hand in at writing, especially involving conservation and environmental issues. Are you aware of any such positions available or any other bodies, similar to yourself that may cater for this mix? "

    Compensation
The job: We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic and well-prepared teacher with a University degree and appropriate TEFL qualification. The position involves teaching general English and business English to adults in groups as well as in personalised one-to-one classes, and also teaching English to young learners (age range from 5 to 18). Our “target language only” policy means that English is used exclusively in class, but we consider that some knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage. inlingua Lorca operates a certified Quality Management System (ISO 9001) where continuous improvement of our teaching skills is key. Full in-house training is provided and on-going training sessions are held throughout the academic year. Candidates must be European Union passport-holders and English must be their first language.

The school: The inlingua language centre is located in the town centre of Lorca in the south-eastern province of Murcia. Our school opened in 1986. We provide high quality language training for companies and private individuals in the local area. inlingua Lorca is a small, well-run establishment with British management where the teaching staff work closely together to achieve high standards of language teaching. The languages taught at inlingua Lorca are English, French, German and Spanish. Our teaching method focuses mainly on the development of our students’ speaking and understanding skills and this is achieved by using the extensive range of trainer resource materials developed by the Method and Material Department at inlingua international. Whether it's business English for a group of company employees or general English for someone interested in travelling, our language trainers develop their lessons using the appropriate Trainer's Resource Pack, which contains lesson plans, talking points, cue sheets and a wide variety of ideas for further skills development. More information at www.inlingua.es/lorca

The place: Lorca is in the region of Murcia in the south-east of Spain and has a population of around 80,000. It is a typical bustling Spanish town and has many contrasts, blending the old with the new. With more than 320 sunny days a year, the climate is very pleasant and so residents can choose from a variety of leisure activities such as hiking in the sierras surrounding the town or spending more relaxing days on the beaches at Aguilas (about 30 km away). The nearest airports to Lorca with bus and train connections are Alicante and Murcia(San Javier). Compensation:

€1150 gross/ month for 25 teaching hours/week (Monday to Friday). Additional hours are paid as overtime.

Part-time hours for applicants already living in the area can also be discussed. Salary will vary accordingly.

Full Social Security cover. Paid holidays: Two weeks at Christmas and 10 days at Easter plus any local or national holidays which fall within the contractual period.

    Help provided with finding accommodation.
