    -Position: Linguistic Assistant - In a primary and/or secondary school.
    The native English speaking Linguistic Assistant takes part in the Learning with English Native Speakers Project (LENS) working for 2 or 4 months from January 29th to March 31st or May 29th 2015, and helping Italian teachers in conducting activities in English.
    The aims of the LENS project are various. The general target is to support and promote the spontaneous children communication in English.
    -Place: Milan or other locations in northern Italy
    -Dates/period: 2 or 4 months, starting on January 29th.
    -Working hours amount: 20 hours/week + 2 hours/week of team planning with the italian teachers. The linguistic assistants usually work in 10 different classes (2 hours/week each)
    -Accomodation: we provide with accomodation in host families.
    -Training: all the linguistic assistants take part in a mandatory training right before the work starts (January 29th-30th-31st), so they must arrive in Milan on January 28th.

    Qualifications
    Applicants prerequisites

    -Only English native speakers
    -EU Citizenship or a valid work VISA for Italy (WE CAN'T BE THE GUARANTOR TO OBTAIN A WORK VISA, SO YOU MUST ALREADY HAVE ONE FOR ANOTHER JOB)
    -Applicants must have experience in working with groups of children of the age group they're applying to work with. Our projects involve children between 6 and 14 years old. Work experience is the main characteristic we seek in a Tutor/Linguistic Assistant, so please state your previous experience in your resume.
    We consider also volunteering experience with cubs, scouts, after-schools, humanitarian projects...

    Furthermore, we suggest you to apply only if you relish the idea of a full-immersion in the Italian lifestyle, and you are willing to overcome any situation due to the cultural differences.

    The job is part-time and the salary is 600€ per month net of taxes.

  • Register with your embassy as soon as you arrive in the host country.

  • Your safety is paramount. If you feel uneasy with any part of the application procedure or interview, walk away!

    Going abroad...
  • Get travel insurance and check that the cover is appropriate.
  • Check what vaccinations you need at least 6 weeks before you go and consider whether you need to take extra health precautions
  • Ensure you have a valid passport that is in good condition and the necessary visas.
  • Make copies of your passport (including any visa pages), insurance policy plus 24-hour emergency number, and ticket details. Leave these copies, your itinerary and contact details with family and friends.
  • Take enough money for your trip and some back-up funds eg travellers cheques, sterling or US dollars.
