    As part of the Academic team the post holder will take responsibility for ensuring that K+ extra study opportunities (online learning and study clubs) are a fully integrated, high quality part of the academic programme for both students and teachers.
    Main responsibilities and functions
    • To take a lead role in implementing and developing K+ extra study facilities and to provide guidance to students using the Study Centre using both online and offline materials
    • Be responsible for staffing the Study Centre for either morning or afternoon sessions Monday to Friday depending on teaching schedule
    • To encourage and promote use of the centre through posters/liaison with teachers in order to increase participation in the K+ Programme – to keep a record of student participation
    • To induct new students in the use of both on- and off-line study materials
    • Be familiar with and able to help students access self-study materials through a range of media
    • To prepare, promote and run Study Centre Workshops in accordance with the agreed workshop timetable
    • To take responsibility for sourcing and purchase of new equipment and resources for the Study Centre within budget and to ensure that accurate records are kept of all resources
    • To train teachers in the use of on-line and off-line resources currently available in the Study Centre, and to induct new teachers
    • To teach a variable lesson bank in agreement with the DoS of up to 21 hours per week dependent on time of year, duties and other circumstances

    Qualifications
    Experience (Essential)
    • A bachelor’s degree as minimum
    • CELTA or equivalent
    • Experience in teaching
    • Understanding of developing learner autonomy
    • Experience of effective student counselling and tutorials
    • Knowledge of British Council and ISI inspection criteria
    • Excellent IT skills, including use of technology in the classroom
    • Proven interest in and passion for blended learning and it’s benefits
    Skills
    • Demonstrates solution-based approach based on learners’ individual needs
    • High level of self-motivation
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to engage with students and drive up adoption of K+ extra study facilities and e-learning
    • High level of approachability and patience

    Compensation
    £18,000 per annum

  • Register with your embassy as soon as you arrive in the host country.

  • Your safety is paramount. If you feel uneasy with any part of the application procedure or interview, walk away!

    Going abroad...
  • Get travel insurance and check that the cover is appropriate.
  • Check what vaccinations you need at least 6 weeks before you go and consider whether you need to take extra health precautions
  • Ensure you have a valid passport that is in good condition and the necessary visas.
  • Make copies of your passport (including any visa pages), insurance policy plus 24-hour emergency number, and ticket details. Leave these copies, your itinerary and contact details with family and friends.
  • Take enough money for your trip and some back-up funds eg travellers cheques, sterling or US dollars.
