This position has the responsibility for:
ensuring the successful delivery of language lessons based on the KIC curriculum
Duties - General
To take responsibility for own personal development and work with the DoS to develop professionally both in teaching skills and in knowledge in the use of and the application of educational technology
To deliver a high level of customer service to both existing and prospective students at all times
To attend regular school management meetings
To develop a good knowledge of the internal procedures supporting the Administration and Accommodation departments of the College.
Other duties as deemed necessary by the Principal
Duties - Teaching
To prepare and teach classes to a high standard (please refer to your copy of the Teachers’ Handbook for information regarding teaching and classes)
To ensure that the lesson objectives, outlined at the start of the unit / lesson are covered and to make sure these are highlighted for students
To prepare thorough lesson plans for regular in-house observations and occasional external observations in accordance with company policy
To set homework a minimum of 3 times a week
To assess students’ speaking skills weekly
To mark written test for students testing.
To refer students to online materials for extension and consolidation.
To provide regular counselling to students (in class time)
To attend a teachers’ meeting once per week
To regularly attend teacher training workshops (payment for these will be at the current company rate – please refer to your contract)
To have a good working knowledge of educational technology and integrate it into a lesson.
Duties - Administrative
To keep accurate and up to date records of work done and materials used in class
To keep accurate and complete records of student attendance and to report absence as per school procedures
To mark students’ homework as required
To check students online participation and scores and mark writing assignments
To assist in the testing and placement of new and existing students (paid at administrative rates)
To produce personalised monthly reports on student progress
Minimum CELTA (or equivalent)
Skills and competencies
Proficient in MS Office package
Good general level of IT competence
Strong organisational skills
Commitment to development
Ability to engage with students by conducting lessons that exploit a range of activities and delivery methods and to ensure that blended learning is integrated in lesson planning
The ability to adapt lesson plans and materials to suit learners’ individual needs.
High level of approachability and patience
You may be asked for a DBS check ( formerly CRB)
|£16.19 to £19.43 per hour depending on experience|

Register with your embassy as soon as you arrive in the host country.

Get travel insurance and check that the cover is appropriate.
Check what vaccinations you need at least 6 weeks before you go and consider whether you need to take extra health precautions
Ensure you have a valid passport that is in good condition and the necessary visas.
Make copies of your passport (including any visa pages), insurance policy plus 24-hour emergency number, and ticket details. Leave these copies, your itinerary and contact details with family and friends.
Take enough money for your trip and some back-up funds eg travellers cheques, sterling or US dollars.
