    Windsor English Language School
    Location Moscow, Vladimir, Russian Federation

    Positions3
    Details
Windsor English Language School is looking for enthusiastic and experienced EFL teachers in Moscow and Vladimir to start in autumn 2014.

Windsor provides a range of general and specialized courses to students and professionals. In addition to general English, our school provides IELTS preparation and ESP courses in finance, law, medicine, IT and Content-based courses in a range of subjects.
We are an IELTS Pretesting Centre and an official partner of University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. We work closely with the Moscow Examination Centre, and most of our teachers, once sufficiently experienced, go on to become certified Examiners. This professional development brings the possibility for regular examining work in Moscow and the possibility of paid working trips all around Russia.
Our policy is to trust our teacher's expertise and to place them at the heart of what we do. We’re working towards developing a school culture based on a Lexical/Communicative Approach, but we absolutely do not have a rigidly prescribed system that limits teacher autonomy.

    Qualifications
    - Candidates must be natives of the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
    - Hold a recognized qualification: CELTA, Trinity TESOL, TEFL.
    - Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or higher.

    Compensation
Remuneration package is to a value of approximately 80 000 rubles a month and includes following:
    • A teacher's monthly salary from 30 000 rubles net for 104 academic hours a month, or from 36 000 rubles net for 120 academic hours a month. 1 academic hour equals to 40 minutes.
    • Shared accommodation very close to a metro station or 18 000 rubles allowance. All utility bills are paid for except for telephone bills.
    • Visa sponsorship during the contract.
    • Medical insurance.
    • Metro travel card.
    • Flight allowance.
    • Meeting at the airport on arrival.
    • Paid induction period (without a reduction in salary).
    • Paid holiday.
    • Full academic support (including bi-monthly in-house training, consultation sessions and seminars).
    • Mentoring for less experienced teachers and personalized support through the first weeks in Moscow.
    • Free Russian lessons for all levels given by a professional teacher.
    • Free Internet access in the school; free coffee and tea.
    • Annual bonus.

There is a possibility to have some extra hours during a week or on weekends for attractive remuneration: if you take 4-6 extra hours a week you will make 500-600 USD per month.

There are several commonsense factors you should consider when applying for a post, attending an interview or working abroad.
  • Do not provide any banking or credit card information when applying for a job.
  • If you are concerned about divulging your home address in your resume, consider using a post office box or similar forwarding address.
  • When attending a job interview, if you feel in any way uncomfortable with the situation or the person/s you are dealing with, walk away. Also consider your work location, do you feel it is safe? Would you be happy to work there late at night?
  • Always let a friend know that you are attending an interview, when and where. acquaint yourself fully with how to get to the interview and how to get back.
  • An interview should always be arranged in daylight hours.
  • If the job appears to be "too good to be true", it probably is. Fully research the employer via web forums, search engines and previous employees. Most reputable employers should be happy to put you in touch with previous/current staff.
  • As previously stated, no reputable employer will ask you for money (even for a visa, work-permit etc.). If a tefl.com advertiser does ask you for payment, refuse and contact us immediately.
  • As a TEFL.com member your resume contact details are not in the public domain. Only registered employers can view your resume (contact details removed) via our resume search engine. If an employer wishes to view your contact details they are required to use a "ResumeView". Our system logs all resumes viewed by the employer. • Register with your embassy as soon as you arrive in the host country.

  • Your safety is paramount. If you feel uneasy with any part of the application procedure or interview, walk away!

    Going abroad...
  • Get travel insurance and check that the cover is appropriate.
  • Check what vaccinations you need at least 6 weeks before you go and consider whether you need to take extra health precautions
  • Ensure you have a valid passport that is in good condition and the necessary visas.
  • Make copies of your passport (including any visa pages), insurance policy plus 24-hour emergency number, and ticket details. Leave these copies, your itinerary and contact details with family and friends.
