    About the program:
    Our US High School Diploma program is designed for Chinese High School students that will be attending college in the US or other English speaking countries. The program will allow these Chinese students to receive a US High School Diploma in addition to their Chinese HS Diploma. Greatly increasing the students’ ability to get accepted into the best US colleges and preparing them to study in an English speaking college. Students will complete accredited US High School courses here in China.

    Job Description:
    Work in a public high school in China with average class sizes of 25 – 30 students. Teaching is scheduled between 8:00am and 7:00pm with two consecutive days off per week. All students are high school aged students. Classes use US High School Curriculum, with full materials and support from local staff and school in US. Maximum of 25 teaching hours per week.

    Position: US State Certified High School English/History Teacher for Quanzhou, Fujian province.

    Contract Duration: 5 or 11 month contracts starting late/early March 2013. Lots of room for advancement.

    Qualifications
    Qualifications:
    Applicant must be currently in China. Native English speaker. Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (literature or US history).

    Background of teaching or studying Literature or US history (teacher must be US or Canadian national). Prefer TEFL Teaching Certificate and experience teaching non-native speakers. Positive, upbeat attitude and motivated to help Chinese students successfully prepare for US college education. Looking for teachers with a desire to live and work in China and experience Chinese culture.



    Compensation
    Salary: Above average salary – 9000+ RMB dependent on the candidate's credentials and experience.

    Accommodation: Western style single person high rise apartment provided by the school. Very near the school and adjacent to city park in the downtown Quanzhou area. Close to restaurants, and grocery store.

    Flight: Flight reimbursement provided for 11 month contract, travel allowance for 5 month contract

    Health Insurance and Visa: Provided by the school.
    Holidays and Vacation: All major Chinese and school Holidays

  • Register with your embassy as soon as you arrive in the host country.

  • Your safety is paramount. If you feel uneasy with any part of the application procedure or interview, walk away!

    Going abroad...
  • Get travel insurance and check that the cover is appropriate.
  • Check what vaccinations you need at least 6 weeks before you go and consider whether you need to take extra health precautions
  • Ensure you have a valid passport that is in good condition and the necessary visas.
  • Make copies of your passport (including any visa pages), insurance policy plus 24-hour emergency number, and ticket details. Leave these copies, your itinerary and contact details with family and friends.
  • Take enough money for your trip and some back-up funds eg travellers cheques, sterling or US dollars.
