In 2014 we were inspected by the British Council and awarded 13 strengths out of a possible 15. Discovery Summer is currently ranked as the top multi-centre summer school in the UK.
We have a wide range of nationalities at all centres so that students can make friends from all over the world. Over 60% of our staff returned last year. Discovery Summer’s policy is to invest in staff training.
We are currently recruiting EFL teachers to work at the following centres:
Collingham, Kensington, central London. Teaching beginners aged 5-7 or elementary aged 8-10 approx. Contracts up to 7 weeks between Friday 23 June – Friday 11 August. Teachers work Monday to Friday, morning only (17.5 hours per week) or full time (35 hours per week).
Queen’s Gate, Kensington, central London. On our Full Day London programme we have juniors (7-13 years) + teens (13-16 years). Contracts for up to 6 weeks between Monday 3 July – Friday 11 August. Teachers work Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00, 35 hours per week. You will be teaching English in the morning and supervising activities and/or trips in London during the afternoon.
All teachers are responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, English as a Foreign Language lessons and for successfully completing the administrative duties that this role entails. Junior classes have an emphasis on Task-Based Learning.

• Degree, CELTA/Trinity TESOL, B.Ed./PGCE (Primary, English or MFL) qualification
• Experience of task-based/project based learning
• EFL experience with the appropriate age group
• Experience in teaching multinational, multi-lingual classes
• Experience of supervising students on study visits
Good knowledge of London sights and history (Queen's Gate teens only)
Experience of syllabus design (Queen's Gate teen only)
Salary and BenefitsFrom £16.20 to £21.21 gross per hour (depending on qualifications and experience) +statutory holiday pay (12.07% paid at the end of the contract) + meetings/induction/report writing paid at 50% of normal hourly rate.
