Details of Position

For over 40 years Bell has offered a range of outstanding Young Learner Programmes to overseas students aged 7 – 17. These unparalleled courses combine academic excellence with an exciting cultural and social programme and provide students with a unique experience and exceptional care.
We are now looking to recruit enthusiastic, dedicated and responsible Activity Leaders, Houseparents and Course Assistants for our residential Young Learner Courses running at four UK independent schools between June and August.
Activity Leaders will plan, prepare and lead sports, drama and arts and crafts activities to groups of students each afternoon and play a key part in organising evening events. They will also participate in activities being led by other staff, assist on excursions and undertake pastoral duties.
Houseparents will provide student supervision, lead daily meetings, undertake house checks, manage pocket money as well as participating in activities and excursions with the students.
Course Assistants assist in all areas the Young Learner programme. Duties involve course administration and supporting staff in the delivery of the academic, activity and pastoral programmes.

Qualifications

Activity Leaders
Essential:
- Degree qualified or equivalent
- Keen interest in sports/drama/arts and crafts
- Experience organising/supervising/leading activities and events
- Ability to lead with confidence
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good team player
- Proficiency in time management
- Ability to multitask and work to deadlines
Houseparents
Essential:
- Degree qualified or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Counselling skills
- Previous experience working with children/teenagers
- Good team player
- Proficiency in time management
- Ability to multitask and work to deadlines
Course Assistants
Essential:
- Administrative/office skills
- IT literate including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Good team player
- Proficiency in time management
- Ability to multitask and work to deadlines
For all positions the following skills are highly desirable:
- Previous experience working with children/teenagers
- Interest in education or sports, drama, arts and crafts etc.
- Residential experience
- Previous experience in a pastoral setting

Eligibility and Safe Recruitment
Applicants MUST be eligible to work in the UK

Salary and Benefits

- Activity Leaders and Houseparents - £363 per week plus £43.81 per week statutory annual leave payment
- Course Assistants - £309 per week plus £37.30 per week statutory annual leave payment
