Details of Position

The English Department in the Faculty of Languages, Cultures and Communications invites applications from native level English language speakers for a full-time lecturing post in English Language commencing in September 2016.


• A Masters in ELT, Applied Linguistics, TESOL or equivalent
• A bachelor degree in humanities or social sciences
• A minimum of 2 years experience in teaching at a college / university level.
• A bachelor degree in English language, preferably Linguistics / English Literature
• A teaching certificate in TEFL, TESOL, HDIP, PGCE and CELTA or equivalent
• PhD in ELT, Applied Linguistics, TESOL or equivalent
Capacity to teach English language skills courses at different levels
Capacity to develop and teach ‘elective’ (optional) courses in English language teaching
Ability to contribute to undergraduate courses in Linguistics
Adept at taking a communicative and interactive approach in the classroom
Able to recognise learner needs and adapt teaching approaches accordingly
Ability to carry of administrative tasks related to academic work effectively
Able to use appropriate technologies for teaching and administration
Able to work positively with students, staff and other stakeholders
Versatile, flexible and adaptable with a positive, open approach to diversity

Salary and Benefits

From €1140 to €1350 per month after taxes depending on qualification level and experience. The contract is initially signed for one year and is renewable on a yearly basis thereafter, subject to annual performance review. Travel benefits are included and campus accommodation in Tetovo is offered, free of charge, subject to availability. The academic year runs from mid-August to mid-July with teaching periods divided into two fifteen-week semesters. There is a break of about three weeks in January and four-five weeks in summer, as well as state and other official holidays.
