Details of Position
Almost all summer course teachers are residential, and some undertake additional paid house parenting duties. Accommodation, full board and laundry service are provided.
Teachers are supported by an experienced academic management team and benefit from regular in-service training workshops. All classrooms have interactive whiteboards and PCs with internet access, and a comprehensive library of up-to-date teaching resources and equipment is available. WiFi is enabled throughout the campus.
We only employ teachers with a native-speaking level of English. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK as the college does not apply for work permits, visas or offer sponsorship to those applying from outside Europe.
All successful applicants will be asked to undergo Child Protection screening which includes checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (“DBS”). Prior to an appointment being confirmed, completed DBS checks and/or overseas police check documents which are satisfactory to the College must be provided. Original forms of identity documents, in accordance with DBS requirements, must be brought to interview by applicants. QualificationsApplicants must have as a minimum a degree plus an accredited EFL qualification such as Cambridge CELTA, Trinity TESOL or degree/MA in a related field, and at least one year’s EFL teaching experience is desirable. PGCE qualified teachers should have an English or Modern Foreign Languages teaching background or TEFL qualification or recent experience. Diploma qualified teachers may be considered for a more senior position.
Salary and BenefitsBasic salary for the July course - £1,207*
Basic salary for the August course - £992*
These figures are based on teachers working a full course and include holiday pay. A breakdown is provided on contracts of employment.
* The basic salary will increase by a maximum of eight increments, which are based on qualifications and experience (£87.50 for July and £75 for August), leading to a maximum salary of £1907 for July and £1592 for August).
Teachers with house parenting responsibilities will receive an additional allowance.
