Details of Position

Country Cousins, winner of an ELTons award in 2014, is looking for a Director of Studies to start as soon as possible until September 2017. We are a specialized junior school which welcomes students from 7-17 years old from all over the world.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of British Council procedures and inspection guidelines with a passion for working with young people.
Duties include:
-Management and recruitment of the teaching team
-Teacher Professional Development,
-Administration of the Teaching Department
This involves managing and implementing the company’s policies and procedures and also ensuring that they are adhered to. I.e.
-Teacher induction/training.
-Organising placement tests for students on arrival, marking of tests and the efficient placing of students into classes based on test results.
-Monitoring of teachers' hours and performance.
-Support for the academic team, including materials management, maintenance of the resources and professional development.
-Assisting students with any academic problems they may have.
-Communication and collaboration with agents and group leaders in order to provide ideal tuition for each group.
-Collecting and auctioning feedback related to the academic department.
-Providing cover teaching when necessary.

Essential qualification:
• DELTA or equivalent qualification
• Degree qualified or equivalent
knowledge, skills and Experience needed for the Job
• Experience in working with young people
• Experience in working in a similar role
• Ability to cope under pressure and with tight deadlines
• Good time management
• Teacher observation and teacher development experience
• Experience in syllabus development
• Excellent organisational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
- Residential experience
- Adaptability
