Details of Position

Discovery Summer runs a range of high quality residential summer courses for young learners/teenagers in top independent schools in England.
In 2014 we were inspected by the British Council and awarded 13 strengths out of a possible 15. Discovery Summer is currently ranked as the top multi-centre summer school in the UK.
In 2016 we welcomed 69 nationalities including up to 10% English Student Hosts.
Over 60% of our staff returned last year. Discovery Summer’s policy is to invest in staff training.
We are currently recruiting residential EFL teachers to work at the following centres:
Marymount International School, Kingston upon Thames; 8-13 year olds; Contracts 3-5 weeks between 22 June – 29 July
Woldingham School, Surrey; 9-13 year old; Contract length 2-4 weeks between 10 July – 9 Aug
Radley College, near Oxford; Juniors 11-14 or Teens 14-17 years; 3-5 weeks between 3 July – 9 Aug
Uppingham School, Rutland; 11-16 year olds; 3-4 weeks between 5 July – 4 Aug
Shrewsbury School, Shropshire; 11-16 year olds; 3-4 weeks between 3 July – 2 Aug
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, English as a Foreign Language lessons and for successfully completing the administrative duties that this role entails. Your lessons will help students ‘learn through doing’ and to improve their confidence in using spoken English.
Teaching hours vary by centre but range from 21-34.5 per week. You will also assist with other duties e.g. social and pastoral.

• Degree, CELTA, Trinity TESOL, BEd/PGCE (Primary Education, English or MFL) or EFL Level 5 equivalent
• EFL experience with the relevant age group
• Previous summer school experience/International school experience
• Experience of teaching multi-lingual classes

Salary and Benefits

All posts are residential. Full board and accommodation is offered. You will work a 6 day week.
From £410 to £515 gross per week (depending on qualifications and experience) +statutory holiday pay (12.07% paid at the end of the contract) + discretionary bonus.
