Job Summary

Concorde International is seeking a well-qualified and experienced Academic Manager for our junior school in Canterbury for students aged 8-17.
You should have a proven track record in student-centred activity courses for young learners of English. You must also have the ability to inspire, lead and professionally support teachers in a dynamic, highly-energised learning environment and continue to strive for excellence.
This position is for a fixed term contract from May 2018 to September 2018.

Details of Position

Our Junior School is located at Concorde International's headquarters in Canterbury, Kent. It provides year round language learning courses for students between the ages of 8-17yrs. There are visiting school groups throughout the academic year and language activity courses during the Summer months.
The successful candidate will be required to attend an initial induction at the beginning of May 2018; manage the school groups and be involved in preparations for the Junior Summer School which begins in June 2018.
You will also be expected to run weekly teacher professional development workshops. The post is non-residential. A knowledge of Canterbury and Kent is highly desirable but not essential. Managers are fully supported by the Academic Director and the management team from the head office.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:
University degree
A recognized teaching qualification (RSA/Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL or equivalent;
PGCE in relevant subjects; BEd, QTS or overseas equivalent)
DELTA or Dip TESOL or equivalent
Native/near-native competence in English
Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
Eligible to live and work in the UK (we cannot assist in any way with work permits or visas)
Availability for pre-course induction
IT literate
Desirable Requirements:
CELTYL, CELTA Trainer
Previous teaching experience with young learners
Previous experience working in a Junior Summer School (ideally in management\EFL setting)
Effective management and motivational skills
Able to speak a second language
Committed to your own Professional Development and that of others
Able to deliver workshops and seminars
Professional in appearance and attitude
Current first aid qualification
Recent DBS check (formally CRB if lacking one will be performed)

Salary and Benefits

Remuneration: From £550 per week (+ statutory holiday pay) plus a performance related payment on receipt of end of summer report.
