Details of Position

Cambridge Law Studio offers high-quality summer courses to young adults in Cambridge. We are now looking for a reliable and enthusiastic teacher of English to join us this summer. We are an ESP centre teaching English to law students and young lawyers around the world. We need a general English teacher to support our specialist teachers as part of a friendly and supportive small team. No knowledge of law is necessary, just enthusiasm and a commitment to improving the speaking and writing skills of our international students. We will provide some tried and tested teaching materials and will also give support to team members in sourcing and developing appropriate teaching materials. Legal English is a developing field and this is a great opportunity for the right candidate to get involved and expand his or her EFL skills. Teaching hours will vary during the summer from 25 hours a week maximum and 15 hours a week during less busy periods. There is some time required for marking student tests and giving them feedback on their progress. We offer a competitive rate of pay and assistance with accommodation costs in Cambridge. We would be willing to consider a newly-qualified teacher as we will offer support, guidance and encouragement. We will offer interviews in Cambridge and will require two references. All applicants must have a degree and hold a recognised EFL teaching qualification to comply with the terms of our inspection body, the ASIC, and the expectations of our students for an efficient and professional learning experience.

Essential: Degree plus CELTA or Trinity TESOL
Desirable: Previous experience of teaching young adults/Business English

Salary and Benefits

Salary: £22,000 per annum pro rata for a 9-week fixed-term contract
