Details of Position
We know our courses are only as good as the staff we employ and so we make sure all our staff get the support they need to do a good job and have fun doing it. We are looking for a Centre Manager to lead one of our our dynamic teams this summer.
We take the selection of management staff very seriously and 80% return to work with us again the following year. We provide full management training (you must be available to attend this in June) and excellent support during the courses by way of visits and a 24 hour senior management phone number.
Centre Managers must have previous experience of summer schools and be highly organised individuals with great people skills.
Don't just take our word for what it is like to work for UKLC, here are quotes from two of our existing Centre Managers:
"I love the challenge of the summer and the camaraderie. I have worked as a CM for UKLC for years and I wouldn't work for any other summer school provider. There is a family feel to the business and you are valued and supported. The Head Office staff (that I joined two years ago after so many summers) are dedicated and always on hand. You don't feel alone, you are part of a big happy team" Caro.
"Having been with UKLC for 4 years, I stepped into the role of Centre Manager for the first time in 2016. I was nervous at first but after getting stuck in to the role, I fell in love with it. I was surrounded by the most phenomenal set of staff and with a big team of 50, every one of them went above and beyond to help the centre run smoothly. Every day held a new and seemingly impossible challenge but I had a huge and strong support network of peers and directors who helped me every step of the way- 24/7! I still regard most of them as some of my closest friends and mentors even after only being around them for a month! Having succeeded in this role last year, I can't think of anything else I'd rather do this summer and the next and the next.... " Grace

More Company Information
MJA Language (est. 2001) and Stars Language (est.1993) worked together from 2008. We realised the potential of bringing together the expertise of the Stars sports programme with the quality of the MJA language programme. Ever since then our partnership has gone from strength to strength and we feel that everyone involved with us has understood and appreciated how well we have worked together. Now, finally, we have become one company under the new brand of UKLC. The courses we run are mainly residential programmes for juniors and take place in exclusive private boarding schools and University campuses in the UK. The students we host are aged between 11 and 17 years of age and come from around the world including Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia. In each centre we recruit a team of staff who are responsible for the smooth running of the course. We pride ourselves on offering excellent support and development to our staff. We feel this is the reason we have an extremely high number of returning staff (65% from summer 2010 to summer 2011).
