Details of Position
Indication of teaching duties:
o Deliver a challenging, engaging and effective course of English lessons to a class of up to 12 students, following the relevant scheme of work and the school timetable (5 days per week).
o Correct students’ work, including the weekly class exam.
o Write students’ weekly academic reports.
o Create a stimulating and welcoming classroom environment for your group and contribute to the
presentation of the EFL department as a whole.
Indication of school-wide duties:
o Safely and confidently manage a group of up to 20 students during off-site excursions and airport transfers, providing continuous supervision, following the relevant itinerary (1 day per week).
o Contribute to the planning, preparation and delivery of the evening activity programme (3 evenings per week).
o Contribute to the overnight element of student care as required by the Boarding Manager (residential staff).
o Supervise students during meal times.
o Attend staff meetings and assembly.
o Campus duties; according to rota.
o Day-off; 1 day per week.
o Attend induction (15 July) and participate in summer school set-up (at the start of the course) and shutdown (at the end).

o To have full commitment to the ethos and demands of a residential summer school for 7 – 14 year-old children originating from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.
o To contribute wholeheartedly to making summer school a happy, supportive environment where students and staff feel secure, safe and able to achieve their potential.
o To have an overriding sense of responsibility for the welfare of the children attending summer school. Your priority must always be the wellbeing of the children in your care.
o To be an outstanding role model in all respects.
o To have purpose, energy and integrity in all you do.
o To respond positively to instruction and work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of the staff team.
o To have a flexible and ‘can do’ approach to work; to be pro-active, self-motivated and enthusiastic throughout summer school.

Qualificationso Must have CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or PGCE*
o Must have native speaker competence in English.
o Preferably with recent UK school experience teaching children aged 7-14.
o Preferably holding a bachelor’s degree.
* PGCE alone must be primary, or secondary MFL or English. We may accept another secondary PGCE subject in combination with a TEFL qualification.
Salary and Benefits£1800 for full course from 15 July until 13 August 2017.
The £1800 total comprises of of 30 days basic pay, plus 2.5 days holiday pay, at £387.707 per week.
