Details of Position
British Council accredited school running its own summer school, with full support from our regular team, in-house materials designed especially for summer, and very personal atmosphere due to limiting our numbers per nationality. This year we are expecting groups from Italy, Kazakhstan, Greece, Spain, Saudi Arabia and France, as well as a mixture of individuals.
The year-round positions of Welfare Manager and House Parents could be a great opportunity for EFL teachers living abroad that are looking to relocate back to the UK. Both roles will be dealing with international students, have full board accommodation as part of the package and will involve some teaching.
QualificationsEFL Teachers: a minimum of CELTA or Trinity TESOL or equivalent. DELTA preferred. Also interested in teachers with the Young Learners certificate.
Welfare Manager: This position will suit someone who cares about the pastoral side of students' personal development as well as the academic development. Training will be provided.
Activity staff / House Parents: qualifications in sport or sport management preferred, but not essential; enthusiasm, flexibility and a keen interest in helping children as important.
Salary and BenefitsEFL Teachers (Summer School) start at £370 per week + statutory holiday pay + increments for qualifications, experience and loyalty (as appropriate). Residential positions include full board accommodation on site./Non-residential positions also available.
Welfare Manager will depend on the candidate. The position is envisaged as being residential, but non-residential may be considered.

Situated in the beautiful Malvern countryside in 70 acres of grounds, Abbey College is a co-educational boarding school that has been providing English language education to its students for over 25 years. We are open all year, running academic courses and short-course groups from September to June and an English language school throughout the summer from middle of June to the end of August. The school has a very family-style atmosphere and many returning students and staff each summer.
