  • Positions: 10

Details of Position

Japan has long been a popular destination for ESL teachers; in a fascinating country where ancient and ultra-modern meet, we offer the opportunity to work for Shane English School Japan and live in Greater Tokyo, one of the world’s great cities, and immerse yourself in a truly fascinating culture.
Enjoy a warm welcome to a country where the culture is as diverse as the landscape. You may never understand all the layers of this enigmatic nation, but you will be delighted and challenged throughout your stay.
There’s so much to do and see in Japan that you could spend your whole life there and just scratch the surface. Try Japan’s world-famous cuisine: sushi, tempura, ramen and udon; climb the picture perfect peak of Mt. Fuji or soak up the tranquillity beneath the Giant Buddha at Kamakura. If that sounds a bit serene, and you love high technology, visit Akihabara, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Wherever you go, try speaking a little Japanese, the locals will love you for it!
You will teach a variety of learners, with a caseload of 50% adults and 50% children. Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience with younger learners, as you will receive a 1 week TEYL course to complement your TEFL qualification.
Children’s classes are in small groups of up to 6, but the average is usually closer to 3. For our youngest learners, you will have TA support. Teachers work from a well-developed syllabus, with continuous support and training offered throughout.
Full support with everything from visa applications to setting up bank accounts is offered from the beginning of the recruitment process all the way through your contract.
Support is also offered with regards to accommodation, which can alleviate much of the stress of relocating.
