Details of Position
We are looking for an experienced EFL teacher with a strong track record in ICT and teacher training with an interest in self-access and blended learning. Ideally you will have e-moderator experience.
Our purpose-built Teaching Centre and two partner premises offer possibly the best educational facilities in the Maghreb with interactive whiteboards in all classrooms.
Having long worked with various ministries on educational projects, the British Council is well placed to play a significant role in the development of the educational sector towards better meeting the needs of employers and the workforce.
The Tunis teaching centre is located in modern, 3-storey, purpose-built British Council premises. We have 15 classrooms, all equipped with interactive whiteboards. We also offer Young Learner courses in good partner premises facilities at the British International School of Tunis.
The academic year is made up of 4 nine-week terms and 2 summer intensive courses in July and August. Teachers take a long leave period in the summer (July or August) with a shorter break at Christmas and other breaks around local Muslim calendar holidays. Teachers deliver a maximum of 24 contact class hours per week.

4 years post-certificate i.e. CELTA/Trinity cert TESOL experience
Experience in teaching at least one of the following YL groups:
• Young learners aged 8 to 10 (400+ hours)
• Young learners aged 11 to 13 (400+ hours)
• Young learners aged 14 to 17 (400+ hours)
Adults General English 18+ (800+ hours)
Experience in teacher training in at least one of the following areas:
• Delivering INSETT sessions (20+ hours)
• Delivering TKT or similar sessions to state-school teachers (20+ hours)
• Delivering ICT/online training (20+ hours)
Strong track record in using and managing ICT
Recognised diploma in EFL i.e. DELTA/Trinity diploma in TESOL
A UK first degree, or at least a British qualification in teaching (PGCE, TEFL-I) is necessary to facilitate gaining a working permit
