We are recruiting Academic Managers, Activity Managers, Teachers (Residential and Non-residential) and Activity Leaders (Residential and Non-residential).

Each summer we provide residential and family stay courses for around 3,500 students from Italy, Spain, France, Austria, Poland, Russia, Greece, Israel, China and Japan. We also have developing links in a number of other countries, and the international aspect of our courses is important.
We are a professional, accredited school and are serious about what we do. We treat our teachers with the same level of individual care and concern as we do our students. We recognise that our teachers are a vital part of our success, not just for the summer, but on a long-term basis too.
We are looking for applicants who are committed and have a genuine interest in teaching young learners. Previous summer school experience is welcomed although not essential. For newly qualified teachers, there will be opportunities to learn and develop and support will be provided to get you launched on your TEFL career.
Teachers are required to teach for 27 contact hours per week. Residential teachers will also undertake 4 activity sessions per week (normally one evening activity and 1 full day excursion).
We believe strongly in our responsibility to promote the development of our teachers, and consequently we have an excellent programme of staff development including:
Pre-course online induction & Staff Handbook
A fully resourced syllabus with accompanying lesson plans
Regular staff meetings
A programme of lesson observation with constructive feedback

QualificationsWe require our teachers to hold a degree plus a CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL or PGCE (English or Modern Languages) with experience teaching in the EFL field.
Other qualifications will be accepted if they are recognised by the British Council.
Applicants without a degree but who hold a relevant EFL teaching qualification and experience may be considered.

Applicants must have necessary qualifications or extensive experience in teaching.
We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers.
Successful applicants will be required to undergo Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Checks which have replaced CRB Checks or Disclosure Scotland Checks. Applicants currently working abroad may also have to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct from the country they are working in.

Salary and BenefitsTeacher Salaries from £315-£375 per a week
Residential & Non-Residential Positions available
Salary packages are based on the level of experience in the EFL field and loyalty to Elac Study Vacations. There are 5 salary levels and the appropriate level for each candidate will be decided by the Recruitment Director in consultation with the applicant.
Experience is based on continuous work in the EFL field on a full time basis.
Experience specific to summer schools will be taken into consideration.
Holiday pay in lieu of any untaken holiday (12.07% of total gross salary) will be added at the end of the contract.
Residential staff will have board and accommodation included.

In 2000 Elac opened its first residential summer school, also in Eastbourne.
