A splendid start to plan your holiday in Argentina!
The book is equally satisfying to the armchair traveller than to the one that will actually use it as a guide. I consider the guide as a first read if you plan to travel within Argentina. Beautiful photographs illustrate the book, and together with excellent maps it tempts the tastebuds! The highlights of each area are described and this makes it easy to plan your own trip accordingly. The authors never appear to come accross biased or judgemental. Handy hints and tips are provided as well, e.g. which wineries to try out in the Mendoza area of the Cuyo province.
A brief introduction is given explaining the history of Argentina. It is unlikely that you need more than what is given unless you're really into history. Short descriptions follow on available outdoor activities, nature in general and general customs and traditions of the Argentines.
The book then further discusses the different areas in the country, e.g. amongst others Buenos Aires and surrounds; Patagonia and the Northeast. At the end there is a reference section with some handy travel tips, hotel and restaurant recommendations. It contains handy addresses and telephone numbers. A handy Glossary completes the book.
The book is printed on glossy paper and it is sturdily bound to avoid it falling apart after many reads. It is not particularly aimed at the budget traveller. It merely describes the country in a way that you can plan and decide where you would like to go. Order from UK | US | Canada
