University Posts in Europe
Q.
I have been teaching in large and small private language schools for several years now and would like to get a post in a university in Europe. I do not see many advertised and would like to know how to go about it.

A.
The majority of tenured university posts in Europe go to nationals and so do not tend to be advertised internationally. It may be possible to obtain a one-year contract post with the possibility of renewal but again these are often advertised locally. Once 'in the door' some foreign personnel eventually manage to secure a tenured position but in almost all cases, this requires a doctorate.
