  TAKING MY FAMILY OVERSEAS...
"I am an English teacher of 10 years standing with a wife and young family. We would both like to travel and live abroad for a while and my professional background does not pose a problem in terms of obtaining employment. However, it is a big step to up everything and move away for what will be a reasonably short-term project. Is there anything I can do to ensure that my family donīt suffer in the long term?"

Teaching in France
Q.
I hope you don't mind me asking your advice but I have just completed a TEFL cert course and I also have an honours BA degree.I would love to spend this summer in Paris or indeed anywhere in France and do something with my TEFL qualification. However all jobs seem to only want experienced teachers and I have no formal experience as yet. Do you think there is any reasonable hope of me getting a job or am I wasting my time?

A.
It is true to say that popular destinations can demand higher qualifications and experience. However, it is also true that being in the right place at the right time can land you a job in your preferred country. If it is possible, it can be a good idea to be doing the rounds of the schools at the beginning of their academic year.
