"I understand from friends who teach that most of their classes are in the evening. Is this normal? I have a young child and the thought of needing a sitter every night seems expensive and less than ideal. "

The best time to find a job?
Q.
I am a Final year student thinking of doing a Tefl course when I graduate. I have heard that it is easier to find jobs, especially starting out, in September and January than at any other time. Is this right?

A.
It generally depends on the start of the academic year. For example, in Europe September is generally a good time as that is when schools have their academic year intake both in terms of pupils and new staff. There can also be opportunities in January where, e.g. some staff have decided not to stay in the host country and so there are vacancies to be filled. However other parts of the world may have different start dates, according to their academic years.
