Training
"Enquiry:
I would like to to do the TEFL training. I am actually making this enquiry far in advance, because I will only be able to do this during January 2010.
I would like to do the best available training as my aim would be to teach basic (I imagine?) English in Japan, but the best training possible and for as long as necessary to prepare well.
I used to work in the library service for 20 years, but have not trained as a teacher. I speak English (not American), Spanish and Afrikaans, so that I converse easily with Dutch speaking people.
I studied German for 5 years, but have totally neglected that, although I can still understand much.
With thanks and best wishes. "

Posts for Mature Teachers
| Q. Friends, is there such a job ? Together, my wife & I are over 140 years old. We are retired school administrators & teachers & would be interested
in teaching or doing administrative work only during the warmer weather in Europe. Perhaps April through October for 6 or 7 months. In other parts of
the world the climate isn't so important.
We do not want to commit for more than 6 months at a time. Are jobs available for " seniors " like us with many, many years of experience in
most school subjects, especially the handicapped.
A. Probably your best first point of contact would be volunteer organisations such as VSO and the Peace Corps. Other options could be teaching charities; and religious and/or state organisations which offer language programmes to immigrant populations.
