Is Age a Problem?
"I am extremely interested in teaching in Japan for a stepping stone job into a martial arts career, and as well because I enjoy helping others learn. Does my age really make a difference to be accepted into this program? I am a 20 year old male and am wondering If my age would affect my chances of getting a job?

Scientific English in China
| Q. I am a retired Ph.D.biologist with considerable authoring experience. I presently teach conversational English at a private colege level institution near Shanghai.I would like to stay in China, and to that end seek a position in a biomedical institution where my experience as author -- of scientific papers, and of more mundane works --and scientist can be utilized. This might be teaching a course in "Scientific English", or editing biomedical papers written by Chinese authors for publication in English peer
reviewed journals, or searching the (US) National Library of Medicine's MEDLINE database on behalf of biomedical research organizations or researchers.
Can you advise me how I might get in touch with organizations or individuals who could use the services I propose.
A. As you are already in China you are probably better placed than most to approach the appropriate organisations and people. I would imagine University Science Depts. and large corporations and companies which undertake scientific research would be the best place to start. If names and addresses of these are not readily available to you, perhaps a request to your Embassy of Consulate would help.
