No degree but considering taking a course
"Hi, I was a Teacher's Aide for 5 years here in the U.S. and I do not have a degree, but very interested in taking the TEFL course. Would my experience as a TA be considered if looking for employment in a different country, even though I do not have a degree?

STAY OR MOVE ON?
| Q. I am in a quandary as to whether to stay within a large TEFL organisation and hope for promotion in time or whether to go for a job with Director of Studies responsibility in a small, relatively little known school. What would you advise ?
A. It rather depends on your own priorities and needs. Either way, it sounds like you want to stay within the profession for some years to come. While the DOS job may immediately give you more in the way of salary and a change of job content plus a challenge, the larger organisation may provide in-house professional development with greater career opportunities in the long run.
I would suggest that you ask your line manager what, if any, development opportunities they can provide and what future prospects for promotion might exist. Only then, can you make an informed decision as to what is best for you at the moment.
