NON-NATIVE SPEAKER TEACHERS ABROAD
"I'm a Russian Teacher of English, graduated from Teachers Training University in Russia. I'm interested in working abroad in TEFL.. My teaching experience is about 14 years and with Russians. I know exactly that TEFL teachers are in demand the world over. What should I do to start my career in TEFL abroad? Most of Schools consider natives. But is there any chance for non-natives to have a chance? Could you recommend me any school that could be interested in non-natives? "

NON-EU CITIZEN - CAN I WORK IN EUROPE?
| Q. I am certified as a TESL instructor and a secondary teacher. I have applied for several positions for teaching English
abroad, however, I receive the same response: Being that I am not a member of the EC, obtaining a working permit is difficult, therefore I am not being considered. Could you please advise me on this matter.
A. If you are a non EU citizen applying for jobs within the European Union it is true that EU citizens have preference although it is not impossible for non-EU citizens to work within the EU. It is a question of convincing the powers that be that you are the best person for the job over and above your EU counterparts, which is not always easy.
