Problem is, how do I go about it? Even though I am diploma qualified and have lots of varied experience the problem always arises that employers always want to interview. Trouble is that 1. I can't just take time off and fly thousands of miles for a job I might not get anyway and 2. I can' risk giving up my job and going back to the UK on a job hunt! Any suggestions? I have been traveling around Europe for one year and this is the next step I would like to take. I am living in Canada now and wondering where the nearest place would be to get the courses I need to be considered for a job. Which courses do I need because they are not called the same in the schools in Canada as they are stated in your web sites. Also there seems to be many different courses you may choose from and I am not sure the differences. Which ones are more recommended for specifically teaching English overseas? Any help that you could give me would be greatly appreciated. A. First of all you do not say whether or not you have a first degree. This could make a difference to your employment prospects and most good schools in Thailand would probably require that you do. Regarding entry qualifications in to the English teaching profession. You are right, there are many. Again what most respectable employers expect is a pass on a course of at least 100 hours' duration and that has included at least 6 hours of teaching practice.
