ACRONYMS AND THE REST
| Q. 1. What's the difference among the different kinds of courses mentioned at the site (TEFL, TESOL, TESL, CTEFLA, DTEFLA)?
2. How much time (how many days or weeks) takes a fulltime TELF-course?
3. What are the costs of a fulltime TEFL-course (lessons, books and other material, taking part in the exams, etc.)?
A. 1. TEFL = Teaching English as a Foreign Language, TESOL = Teaching English as a Second or Other Language; TESL = Teaching English as a Second Language; CTEFLA = Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults; DTEFLA = Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults.
2. This can vary greatly. Reputable employers generally look for a certificate level course of no fewer than 100 hours plus a minimum of 6 hours teaching practice.
3. Again, this varies greatly. It is a question of approaching training organisations and comparing.
