Beginning a new life
| Q. I have a Business degree (B.S.) from a university in California (Chico State University). I taught English from 2006-2007 in South Korea, and I really enjoyed it. Currently I work at a bank in the Scoring Department, since 2007. I would like to get back into teaching English as a foreign language, and I would like to do this in Paris, France.
Before spending the money for the TEFL course that you offer, do you know what the likelihood of finding this kind of job in Paris would be? I taught children (kindergarten to twelve years old) while in Korea, and I enjoyed this atmosphere, however, I also wouldn?t mind shifting my focus to teaching business English, or even broadening my focus to do both. I am teaching myself French, but am starting with the very basics at the moment.
Can you please let me know your view on whether or not there would be a good job market in Paris for this? I have a dual citizenship with the U.S.A. and Ireland, so working in France would be hassle-free regarding visas etc.
Thanks for your time,
A. To clarify. TEFL.com does not provide TEFL courses, although you will find TEFL courses, from a variety of providers, advertised on our website.
Generally speaking, there are not many teaching positions available at any one time in Paris. However your business degree would definitely be a plus for the Business English sector and a working knowledge of French would be an advantage.
