"I understand from friends who teach that most of their classes are in the evening. Is this normal? I have a young child and the thought of needing a sitter every night seems expensive and less than ideal. "

Is there seasonal demand for teachers?
Q.
I am an English and Economics graduate and I'm close to starting a 4 week CELTA course in London. I am looking to teach in Vietnam but was wondering if there is a strong seasonal demand for English teachers? When would not be a good time to seek a job?

A.
The best time to apply for TEFL jobs is at the beginning of a country's academic year. This can vary from continent to continent and also country to country. While there will always be additional posts throughout the year, the bulk of jobs available are at this time. We always suggest you contact your local embassy or consulate of the country or countries you have a particular interest in. Another great resource is our sister site, www.WhichCourse.com. In the "Which Course - Which Job" section (http://www.whichcourse.com/EP_search.html) you can select the country you would like to teach in, the skills and qualifications required and the month in which they hire staff.
