  DIPLOMA REQUIRED
"I am a teacher of English (Language and Literature) in a secondary school in the Netherlands. This means that I teach pupils from 12 to 19 years old in all levels. I just spent the summer in Cambridge and found out that I need a TEFL diploma to be allowed to teach in some of the language schools which have been acredited by the British Council. I studied English at a Dutch university for 4 years and one year at the University of Lancaster. After I finished I did a teacher training course of one year. What do I need to get my TEFL (as I am teaching second language learners already)? "

Interview for CELTA course
Q.
I have been invited to attend a group interview to get on to my CELTA course. My pre-course tasks involved completing some grammar exercises, writing about my experiences of learning a foreign language and explaining why I thought I would be suited to a CELTA course. I would like to prepare for the interview as well as I can but I don't know what to expect in a group interview. Please can you suggest ways for me to prepare for this.

A.
Group interviews can be slightly unnerving as, while you are interacting with one interlocutor, you are aware that you are being observed by others also judging your performance. However, try and relax in the knowledge that they will want you to do well. It's impossible to know what their line of questioning will be but I imagine they will want to double check your responses in your pre-course task and to gauge whether or not you have the time, commitment, and interest in order to successfully complete the course. Therefore, do revise your responses to the task and prepare supporting arguments for them. A relaxed and cheerful demeanour should also help. Good luck.
